Who do you want to be caught under the mistletoe with this holiday season?

Aside from my husband? Well, there's Anderson Cooper ::points to icon:: and Shihab Rattansi of CNN. Neil Gaiman, bless him. This of course, with due permission from spouses/SigO's of those involved.

If your Vox Neighborhood had a potluck dinner tonight, what dish, drink or dessert would you bring?
I would bring one of my specialties - ox tongue, pressure-cooked till tender, then simmered in cream of mushroom soup and red wine. Lengua is a delicacy here in the Philippines, and usually served during special occasions. Sometimes it is baked in a pastry shell, with carrots and potatoes, and called pastel de lengua.
What's your alma mater?

The University of the Philippines, College of Arts and Sciences, located at Padre Faura in Manila. Spent four years in pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Economics - and watched the area transform from a semi-red light district to a semi-respectable area. Kind of miss all the clubs with their flashing lights, though - in their heyday, it was something to see, especially during Christmas!
When do you start your holiday shopping?
Holiday shopping here starts around the middle of November, or whenever the local malls announce the first of the holiday sales. Note: Here we have pre-Christmas, Christmas, post-Christmas clearance, and New Year clearance sales.
Since most of our gifts are of the "duty present" variety, I tend to wait till the special gift packs are put on display before heading out to the mall. And I would never think of shopping without a list, just to make sure everyone has a gift prepared for them!
For a full sit-down dinner with several guests, would you rather be the one cooking or do you prefer to just show up and eat?
In that particular scenario, I would rather be the guest than the cook. I get tense quite easily, and no doubt I would be a nervous wreck by the time dinner needed to be served!
However, if, like some of my friends, I were blessed with a good cook and a staff of at least two maids, then there would be no keeping me out of the kitchen once the menu was decided upon. By nature, I would prefer to be on the scene to supervise the table setting and the seasoning of the food, to leave only when it became necessary to dress up for the arriving guests.
Ringtones: What's yours and how often do you change it?
Submitted by enrico.
My Palm Treo 680 has a ringtone currently set to "Blues Slow", and a message tone set to "Unique". Since text messaging is the default means of mobile phone communication in my country (cheaper!), my message tone generally changes every month or so.
On a related note: my husband has kept the same ringtone and message tone since I set them up for him more than two years ago.

Have you ever won anything at a carnival, arcade or midway game?
I've been lucky in winning things at carnivals and arcades. They're usually stuffed toys - one is a puppy from a local fair; another puppy came from the bowling game at an arcade. My husband once won a huge St. Bernard stuffed toy at a carnival, and that was our best prize to date.
