Updating from the Blue
Have decided to hook up the Blue PC and its ginormous screen to the internet for a while. This in part comes about because I've discovered a pocket of free time that will allow me to work on a backlog of pictures that goes back to about March of this year. Being online will make it easier to post the pictures once I've done editing them - and will give me a chance to try out Flock, at that.
Ramon woke up at midnight with the beginnings of something gastric. I fed him a Tums and watched him turn into a pretzel as the pain refused to go away. Thankfully, a hurried SMS consultation with Dr. Joel confirmed my request to have Ramon skip his Aspilet dose for today (and probably tomorrow, too). Soft foods, also, till he felt well enough to join the family at meals. That, plus a Nexium, helped soothe him to the point where the pain was nothing more than a bad memory.
Of course, being up at 3AM meant that by 7AM, when the doctor gave the OK to my suggestions, I was *wasted*, and promptly dropped off to a sound sleep until about 9AM. And *then* I find out I have started my cycle. ::rolls eyes:: I knew that the sudden twinge in my tummy while Ramon was in pain was more than just sympathy twitching.
The rest of the day was spent being leisurely. No going out - not that I wanted to go anywhere, between watching hubby recover his good nature and the weather cooling down to make bed as enticing an option as could be desired. Frogged the project I was starting after about 12 rows - it somehow didn't look right to me. Frogged all the swatches I made before the pashmina project, wound the yarn into balls (nearly wrote "balled the yarn", but that sounds not quite there) and have started knitting a new swatch with the intent of using up the yarn on a modified Roman Stitch, with 4.0mm straight needles.
I like the narrower needles, myself. Have already discovered that certain yarns like certain needles; for example, this one likes bamboo, while the Mega yarn moves more easily on plastic or aluminum. Pictorial evidence to follow, once this is finished.
Basically, that was the day. Tomorrow is life as usual - Sunday groceries, a stop at the drugstore to replenish some of Ramon's meds.
