It's a brand-new year, same old rush!
Back home again, after a morning spent mainly in line at the barangay office. It was a three-in-one deal: pay off the realty taxes for the year, get new community tax certificates (formerly known as residence certificates), and donate three years' worth of old Oprah magazines and Reader's Digest issues.
Everything fell into place, which was nice. Got a number for the queue for the realty tax first. Then, dropped off the old CTCs for processing ("Come back in an hour..."). Then, told Beng (the barangay nurse) that I had the magazines in the back of the car. So she got one of the security people to heave the tote bags into the clinic, where the contents were transferred to the donation carton and filled it to overflowing. ::grin:: Some high school out in the city is going to be really happy with their loot, I'm thinking.
Got the CTCs after an hour, as projected. Then played with the features of the new phone while waiting for my turn in the realty tax queue. Unfortunately, the post I created on the phone got eaten while in transit; so here's this one instead. The good news is, I managed to get in just under the wire for payment processing cut-off!
So now I'm catching up on online stuff while waiting for the maintenance crew to come and take down the lanterns. The water delivery people are scheduled to come, too - which led me to rethink my plan for going to SM Makati to pay a credit card bill. ::sigh::
According to said bill, the due date was January 05. But the bill arrived January 06 - so I suppose if I'm to be levied late charges (and it's supposed to be the last payment, too, next month!) next month, submitting the check by January 08 won't make a significant difference from submitting it today...
Oh, I have to call up the hospital, check if the refund from Ramon's last confinement will be ready for pickup tomorrow, when he goes for his check-up. Dad wants to come along too, to show the doctor his latest bloodwork results. This will be the perfect opportunity to get him to SM so he can renew his SM Advantage card.
The Sony 37" CRT TV is due for repair tomorrow afternoon. So I'll be staying home all day Friday - Saturday will be Ramon's prescription refill day and groceries. Mm-hm.
OK. So much for that. Time to review some more online stuff. Catch you whenever!
