A clean home office. The mind boggles.
No, seriously, after all the nibbling around the edges, I finally cleared the daybed of all the things on top of it. The realization that I'd finally found homes for all the "stuff" - be it in a basket, up in the storage cabinet, or the donation boxes - only hit me while I was going through a box under the bed that held quite a bit of miscellany. It turned out to be the last box of the day, and man did it feel good to look at the office before I went down to lunch, knowing everything was sorted and neat!
As a result, I have a bit of excess in the way of organizers. But two have gone into the kitchen, as I finally asked Ma if she would be willing to part with the broken microwave oven that we've been keeping for nearly a decade. We can't get it fixed because she had it brought in from the US and there's no service center for that brand in the Philippines. We have a perfectly good microwave oven already in residence in the kitchen. So finally, it has been consigned to the charity section of the house, and the kitchen looks a lot happier for the change.
After lunch, I went through the papers that need to be filed away, and culled a good number of holiday fliers and brochures. These have gone into the recyling pile, and if the eco-aides were a little more conscientious about gathering up all these lovely aluminum cans and glass bottles? I'm thinking life would be less crowded out in the laundry area.
A while ago, I stood outside and spotted the loveliest full moon shining down - so I popped back into the house and grabbed Dad's binoculars. Powerful lenses, those - and with night vision, even. (Or so the salesperson said.) But I turned the binos on that lovely silver disc and had it turn into a gorgeous, glorious thing of three dimensions. Tweaked the focus, and had everything come up sharp, and spent enough time in delighted awe to develop a crick in my neck.
Then I find out just now that I had the good fortune to catch a perigee (Moon closest to the earth) full moon, hence the loveliness of it all. ::bounce:: Maybe it's my celestial reward for trying to encourage more chi into my life? One never knows. ::smile:: Already I can feel how much easier work flows in the space, which promises good things for the months ahead.

What else. I did the laundry. Lots and *lots* of laundry - almost a week and half of clothes, both mine and Ramon's.
I programmed the DVR for the rest of the month.
I sent off donations via fax, charged to my credit card. Found the forms while decluttering, oh me, oh my! @.@
Prepared an envelope of Christmas card fronts to be sent out to St. Jude's Ranch; if I want it to make the deadline, I should mail it on Monday, Tuesday at the latest.

Yesterday was busy, much more so than today. 90% of it was spent in decluttering the office space. The other 10% involved:
- booking a spa appointment at The Suriya Spa Hotel Intercontinental, so that I can use up a gift certificate before it expires on January 14;
- getting a check out to our insurance agent, to pay for this year's fire insurance coverage;
- having the 37" TV checked out by the Sony technician and being told we have to get a step-down transformer (the unit runs on US 110V, yayz) because the AVR output is about 10 volts higher than recommended;
- Sony technician will come back on Wednesday to replace various bits that fried as a result of power overload. Otherwise, no need to junk the TV for an LCD unit just yet;
- sorted through receipts and closed up the 2008 cash expense log;
- various other things that are in my planner that I am too lazy to check and record here.

Am sleepy. Will now post this up on various journal hosts, then try and finish that EPIC HP fanfic I am reading, before bed.
The weather is teasing me - clear skies and cool winds, and I want to run away to Tagaytay for a night or two. Whee!
